Week 52: La Rosa

Hey everyone!

It's been the best week of my life! But then again, each week as a missionary just gets better and better. Even through the hard times, I experience growth and continue to feel the love of my Heavenly Father. There's no place I'd rather be!!

Milagrooooosssss...

☆We met José y Luzmila from Colombia! My MTC comp, Hermana Young, was there when they were baptized last March. They recently moved to our branch in Huntington Beach. We are going to help them prepare for the temple!

☆Edgar continues to progress! I wasn't there for his lesson this week because I was on exchanges with Sister Murri, but Hermana Amézquita and Sister Cox taught him the Plan of Salvation and said it went really well! He also came to church again on Sunday and loved it! Please pray for him that he can accept the invitation to be baptized!

☆We had a biggggg miracle on exchanges with Sister Murri! They are in the Cordata Park ward, a small, more affluent area where it is less common to find people who are interested. But we knocked on Carl's door and he was interested! He was busy at that time but said we could come back later that night! So we came back later that night with a member (who happens to be Carl's neighbor across the street). But wait it gets better! Carl told us his children are members, his grandchildren live in Provo, and his church (because he's pretty old and it's hard for him to get out) is Music and the Spoken Word! He loved the message of the Restoration and commited to read the Book of Mormon for the first time! He was so excited to call his son afterwards and tell him he is learning about the Church of Jesus Christ.

☆Every Saturday, we play soccer with the La Rosa Branch. A couple weeks ago, Sergio showed up to soccer and yesterday, we were able to have our first lesson with him. We taught him the Restoration and he is really open to it! We are going to start teaching him after soccer every week!!

☆We had an amazing sister's devo on how faith in Jesus Christ conquers fear! And Sister Platt came. She gave us a spiritual boost!

Tomorrow I hit one year of being a missionary!

I honestly can't believe I've been here so long! This year has been the best year of my life!!

I've truly come to see the truthfulness of what Jesus said in Matthew 16:25: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

I have found such a fulfilling purpose in giving all I am to the Savior every day. I have come to know what is truly important in this life. I have found joy in progression, growth, and complete submission to the will of the Lord.

I love Him.

And I am excited to work even harder and give even more these last 6 months.

Love yall!
