Week 49: La Rosa
Happy New Year!! I'm so grateful for the growth I experienced in 2022. Best year of my life so far! I'm excited to continue growing with the Lord in 2023!
Highlights/Miracles from this week:
☆María Aldrete opened up to us more about the obstacles that are preventing her from being baptized. So now we can help her more directly.
☆Sister Clements went back to Pleasant View as a trainer!! We went with her to pick up her new companion, Sister Hill and she is sooo cool! They have already seen so many miracles. I'm so proud of them.
☆We played soccer in the rain! And I scored a goal (for real) this time!
☆We had a miracle church tour (finally) with our friend Lucas! He felt the Spirit and said he wants to be baptized when he learns more! Woohoo!! Sadly, he wasn't able to come to church yesterday because of an emergencia but this week for sure!
☆I just love the sisters in HB. They're always giving hugs and sincere compliments and help me feel my Heavenly Father's love!
This time of year, we sets goals to improve, change, and grow. Sometimes it can be discouraging when we set goals and then mess up and then just give up. Yesterday, our prophet gave us inspired advice that I'm so excited to apply this transfer!
"For me, deep-sea fishing has been infrequent but instructive. Success requires patience, persistence, and prayer.
"As we begin this new year and make resolutions to improve things in our lives, these three requisites for successful fishing can help us.
"First, be patient. As with fishing, real change requires time—and often a lot of time. It is tempting to expect immediate results and then become disappointed when things don’t work out exactly as planned. This may be why the Apostle Paul counseled us to “run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).
"Second, be persistent. Keep at it, even when things get difficult. Push through the tough times, and realize that even small victories mean you are having success. The Savior “waxed strong in spirit” (Luke 2:40) as He grew older. We too can wax strong in spirit and in our talents and habits if we persevere.
"Third, be prayerful. Call upon God for the strength you need as you labor diligently to become a better version of yourself—a better disciple of Jesus Christ, a brighter light in the world. For “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
"Happy New Year, my dear friends. May the Lord bless us all as we endeavor to become more like Him."
I know that we can change through the atonement of Jesus Christ as we are patient, persistent, and prayerful. And I know that this counsel truly comes from a prophet of God. I invite all of you to follow His guidance. I promise as you do so, you will be spiritually safe.
I love yall! Have an amazing week!
