Week 35: Raymond

Hey everyone! I hope you've had an amazing week:))

Highlights:
☆Mission Conference! We talked about how the day of miracles has not ceased.
☆Exchanges w/ my other mission sister (Hna. Ayala). She is such a hard worker! It was really fun!!
☆We had an Hermana's Devo and all the Hermanas shared how Christ helped them overcome their fears this transfer! And then we had a surprise party for Hna. Echeverria's 20th Bday!!
☆Woke up at 5 am Sunday just to drive to and from Costa Mesa (hour round trip) because Sumoconsejo was rescheduled and they didn't tell the missionaries.

Miracles:
☆Ariana is progressing so much (she is the niece of a family in our ward)! Literally a few months ago when she was taught by the Hermanas she was not interested but te Lord has prepared her. She is reading the Book of Mormon and coming to church every Sunday. Woohoo!
☆Our friend Cornelio who is on date to be baptized next month came to church! He doesn't have a car so he was planning on taking the bus but the bus was an hour behind so thankfully the Wrights went and picked him up!!
☆Miracle lesson with David! We watched the video where President Uchtdorf is talking about the shower of Heavenly blessings God if giving us. Sometimes we put up umbrellas to impede those blessings from coming. One of those umbrellas that he had right now is not living the Word of Wisdom. He finally has the desire to give up coffee!! We promised him that as he watches General Conference this weekend and follows the guidance of our living Prophet, his desire to drink coffee will go away.
☆Last night, all of our lessons fell through so the Spirit guided us to visit Liz, who was baptized last year but hasn't come to church much. Liz expressed to us her desire to come back to church and remember those things she's forgotten so she can prepare to go to the temple. We are so excited to start meeting with her again every week!!

Spiritual thought:
This week I was reflecting on why I choose to obey the Prophet. I obey the Prophet because I know that every thing he says comes from God.

President Benson taught in his BYU talk "Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet"
The prophet does not have to say “Thus saith the Lord” to give us scripture. Sometimes there are those who haggle over words. They might say the prophet gave us counsel but that we are not obligated to follow it unless he says it is a commandment. But the Lord says of the Prophet Joseph, “Thou shalt give heed unto all his words and commandments which he shall give unto you” (D&C 21:4; italics added). How we respond to the words of a living prophet when he tells us what we need to know, but would rather not hear, is a test of our faithfulness."

Something that Bishop Miller said once that has had a great impact on me was when he said: "There is a difference between when the Prophet invites and when the Prophet commands but in my life it has always been the same."

I want be someone the Lord can trust who will always do my best to follow all the counsel given through my leaders.

I am grateful to know that God continues to reveal truth through living prophets.

I invite each of you to watch General Conference this weekend with a determination to follow the counsel given by our prophet and apostles. I promise you as you do so, you will see miracles.

Love you all!!
