Week 27: Cerritos

HI everyone!

This week has been filled with miracles!

☆We had an amazing lesson with Jeovannie about the 10 commandments. He asked so many questions and was so excited that we talked for an hour! It is so sweet to see this 9 year old get excited about the gospel of Jesus Christ!

☆Mociel was able to get married to her husband and then ended up moving back to México to be with her family when she has her baby. We will miss her. But we are so excited for her that she was finally able to get married!!

☆We have a new mission wide car fast every Tuesday where we have to walk, use public transportation, or get rides from members. Last minute we asked Hermana Luque to drive us to our 2 lessons and she was definitely supposed to be there! She was able to help Mociel with some advice and shared her Conversion story when she came with us to teach La Familia Perez. It was so powerful! She was definitely meant to be there that night.

☆We gave last minute Talks in Sacrament meeting. Although we teach all day everyday in Spanish, this was our first times speaking in church and it was a miracle to realize that through the gift of tongues, we are able ti give a 15 minute talk in Spanish!!

☆On Thursday at Zone Council, our leaders taught us about finding new people to teach through street contacting, social media, people taught in the past, and members. We committed to choose One method and make a plan to find someone new using that each day in daily planning. We have seen miracles from following the guidance of our leaders. We were able to find 10 new people to teach last week!!

When we were learning about and practicing finding people in Zone council last week, one of our leaders shared the following quote by Elder Holland that has changed the way I approached missionary work:

"This is God's very truth. This is not a fairytale. I don't wake up every morning, and ask myself, How can I go fool another group of people today? How can I go pretend that something's true?

"I would not do that, and my life is worth more to me than that...my integrity is more than that.

"I get up every morning saying, not how I can pretend, not how I can act like this is true. My plea every morning of my life is, how can I convey what I know to be true more than anything on the face of this earth? How can I convey to some person, or persons, the reality of the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the fact that God lives, that the heavens are open? I have a commission to stand by the Savior of the world, to defend Him and defend the Rock that He is."

I am so grateful for the privelege I have each day to represent Christ and to share this truth that is the most precious thing I own.

Love you all!
