Week 19: Cerritos
First week out of training was crazy! Definitely bittersweet to leave my trainer but I am so happy to be back with Hermana Young!! We have had an amazing week and saw lots of miracles.
☆We were able to find new two people on Eucalyptus street to start teaching! Sterling recently moved here from Nicaragua and we taught him a quick restoration! Maria Torres is the sweetest lady. We met her a few weeks ago and have been trying to find her for awhile but she was finally home and we had a short lesson about the atonement of Jesus Christ.
☆We've been talking to Brenda a lot about personal revelation this week and she was able to resolve some of her concerns and learn more about how the Spirit speaks to her!
☆There are two girls that we've been teaching for awhile but haven't had a lesson for awhile and we showed up and had a lesson with one of the girls, Maribel and her mom, Gabriela and we invited them to be baptized! They are still thinking about it. the Spirit was really strong.
☆On Sunday Brenda, her 4 year old Alex, and our friend Andre all came to church!!!
☆We had an amazing lesson with one of our new friends Ivania! We stopped by and she invited us in so we taught her the Restoration and the Spirit was so strong! She said she felt peace and a Beautiful feeling. She felt the Spirit!!
☆We had a great lesson with our friend Alfredo. He lives at the same apartment complex as the familia Yepez in our ward on Eucalyptus street, so we had the lesson at the Yepez' house on faith and repentance. There are always miracles when we have members present!
The biggest miracle of all we've seen this week is witnessing how the Lord is still able to accomplish His work and work miracles with two inexperienced missionaries. It was a privelege to be instruments in His hands this week and gain a stronger testimony that He directs this Work of Salvation.
The Prophet Joseph Smith taught: "The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; … the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done."
This is truly the most amazing cause on the earth today. We are instruments in God's hand in gathering His children to bring them back home. I am so grateful for the miracles we have seen and will continue to see here in Cerritos!
Love you all and hope you have a great week!
