Cerritos: Week 18
I can't believe we're already here and I am finishing my last week of training. I am so blessed to have learned from Hermana Midence. She is a humble, dedicated, obedient, loving, powerful missionary. She has a love for the Lord and a love for other people that blessed everyone around her. I have learned so much from her & will be forever grateful for the way she's helped me to grow and to begin to become the missionary & disciple that God needs me to be. I will definitely miss her but I am excited for the next transfer (tomorrow) & my new comp!
And my new companion is… HERMANA YOUNG, my MTC comp! I was so excited when I heard the news. Hermana Young is so sweet and kind. She has a big heart and a big testimony. I feel so grateful that she will be my companion again. She will be such a blessing to our friends & our area (Cerritos).
This last week has been so special and we've been blessed to continue to see miracles here in Cerritos.
☆We had a really spirit-filled lesson with Brenda about baptism! She is not ready to pick a date but she is so close. Please keep praying for her.
☆We had our first full lesson with our friend Alfredo about the Plan of Salvation because his wife passed away a few years ago. It was such a sweet lesson. He truly understood and is happy to know that he can be with his wife forever. He has decided to follow Jesus Christ & be baptized. He wants a lot of time to prepare, but has made a goal to be baptized on August 20, his wife's birthday, which is the sweetest thing.
☆We went to the LA temple with Julie & Dayze. Julie went inside to do baptisms with the Elders and we were able to do a tour of the Visitor's Center with Dayze.
☆Last night, the Lord led us to find the sweetest couple: Victor y Francis. They were actually taught by missionaries about 20 years ago and we were able to find them because they live in the same apartment complex as Monica and Edgar's family. We taught them about the Book of Mormon and are coming back next Sunday with my new companion!
Earlier this week, I was really scared and doubting my abilities. I was worries about Hermana Midence leaving and me not being able to help our friends because of my Spanish. And because Hermana Midence is an ángel, she was able to help me find comfort through the Book of Mormon. We read Moroni 10 together, where Moroni talks about spiritual gifts.
8.And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them.
23.And Christ truly said unto our fathers: If ye have faith ye can do all things which are expedient unto me
God wouldn't set up up to fail. This is His work. And if we have faith, he will give us all the gifts that we need to we can be instruments in His hands to accomplish His purposes. This brings me so much comfort.
I love you all and hope you have the best week!
