Semana De Milagros (Week 8:Cerritos)

Buenos días!

We had the most amazing week here in Cerritos! We had zone conference on Tuesday with our half of the mission and it was amazing! The Platts are so awesome. We talked about sacrifice and giving 100% as a missionary. We were invited to get rid of any bad habits or anything that is holding us back from giving everything to the Savior because we love Him. Our leaders promised us that if we give 100% effort, then we will see miracles. This zone conference inspired Hermana Midence and I so much to become even more consecrated missionaries. Although we haven't been perfect, we've tried to give everything we had this week and we saw so many miracles. Here were the top 5 miracles from this week:

5.We met this lady who was selling snowcones on the street named Guadalupe. We were on our way to another lesson but we both felt prompted to stop and talk to her so we bought snowcones and asked if we could share a message about Jesus with her. We read Alma 7:11-12 and gave her un Libro de Mormón. When we gave it to her, she had the biggest smile on her Face. And we are going to teach her this week too! 

4.We had our first lesson with Maria! We found her the week before when she was walking her dog and we got her number. We called her and she invited us to come for a lesson. Usually we spend some time getting to know people first, but she walked in and told us she wants us to get right to it do she can see what we're all about, so we gave her a Book of Mormon and read a couple paragraphs of the introduction. We finished reading, and Hermana Midence asked what she felt about it and she said "That was beautiful" And that she wants to learn more! So we have another lesson with her this week!

3.We went to the LA Temple with Juliana, a teenager who was baptized a few months ago. The youth were planning on going for the temple Trip for their Wednesday night activity and so we visited Juliana earlier last week to tell her about it and teach her about temples. She said she had a busy week, so she wasn't sure she would be able to come but then she ended up coming and afterwards, she said she loved it. And she wants to go back and bring her own family names.

2.We had the best church tour with Brenda on Thursday night. She has been doing all the commitments but has a hard time praying and receiving an answer. During the church tour she opened up to us a ton and told us everything she was struggling with, like how she hadn't felt the spirit yet. She even told us that she was about to drop us the night before but then we sent her a text and someone invited her kids over the same time as the church tour so she decided God was trying to tell her something and gave it a shot. Then in the chapel the Spirit was so strong when we were testifying of the Savior's atonement and the sacrament. And Hermana Midence had me play "I know the my Redeemer Lives" on the piano while Brenda read the words. And then at the end, we asked her to pray and usually she says no but she said yes and gave the most heartfelt prayer where she prayed that other people could feel the same love she feels. It was amazing! God is a God of miracles. 

1.Brenda and Araceli came to church! Brenda could only come for about a half an hour because she had work after. But she got all dressed up and seemed happy to be there! And Araceli, who is 20, came to church even though her Sister couldn't come and stayed all 2 hours! And she really loved learning about forgiveness in Sunday School. It was definitely a miracle. 

Omni 1:26 "And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him."

I know that this is God's work. When sacrifice everything we are on the altar of sacrifice, he is able to use us for the purposes He needs us for.
