Week 79: Home (Part 2)

Image
Hola familia y amigos! Here's part 2 to the last week of my mission:) On Friday, July 28, we woke up early and headed to the mission office. It felt surreal to travel down the 22 one last time. We listened to some of my favorite songs on my mission, including the song "Se hará señor tu voluntad," which I would always listen to with Hermana Midence. When we got there, I gave Hermana Echeverria one last hug and piled into President and Sister Galotera's car. We got to John Wayne Airport all too soon and had one last chance to say goodbye to the Galoteras before heading through security. Oddly enough, one of the elders from my mission was also headed to the Norfolk airport, so we said goodbye to the other missionaries in our group and headed to our terminal.  As the plane left Anaheim, I started sobbing. It was kind of embarrassing lol but I don't think I've ever been so sad in my entire life. The lady next to me was so kind. She turned off her music and asked me...

I am home.  I finished my full-time mission on July 28, 2023. It's hard to believe that my time serving the Lord as a full-time missionary is over for now. The hardest thing I've ever had to do is leave my mission. The last week was very special. I had some beautiful experiences that I never want to forget. Highlights: -On p-day, we had a bbq at the park with HBN! We played spikeball and had a great time. -HBN Devotional! I was able to share my departing testimony with some of my favorite missionaries:) -President Galotera called to tell me I would no longer be an STL. Even though I was expecting that, it was a tender experience. I felt Heavenly Father's love through Him. I miss that special role of being able to serve and love the sisters.  -I went to my last leadership training meeting. I went to 9 leadership trainings, 16 Mission Leadership Councils, trained in 36 zone councils, and led over 40 companion exchanges. The beautiful thing about it is I learned so much, but t...

Hola amigos! It's been such a good week and I never want to leave!!!! Miracles -We got in contact with Lucas! He had literally run over his phone with his car (he showed it to us) and changed work schedules but he is still interested. He says every time he tries to come closer to Christ, a bunch of bad things happen in his life. He asked for a priesthood blessing, so the Peregrines came with us and Hermano Peregrine gave him a sweet blessing.  -Ericka recognized the spirit during our lesson as we talked about the Plan of Salvation. She accepted the invitation to be baptized on August 27! -We had a lesson with Noel. Hermano Chacon and Victoria Stewart came with us and he opened up a little more about his concerns. Please pray that he can develop renewed faith in Jesus Christ! -We were able to help Hermana Delia Acosta, Hermana Julia Herrera, and Araceli Barajas start on their family history  -We found out Heydi is coming back this Tuesday (for real this time haha). -Ericka, Noe...

Week 77: La Rosa

Hola familia y amigos! I am really grateful for the experiences I've had this week! There were highs and lows, but it was just a reminder that my motivation is because I love God. When things get hard, I just think about Him.  Updates -Lucas is not getting baptized for now. He hasn't responded to us for a week:( Please pray for him.  -Heydi didn't come to HB yet. Theres a chance she will come this Saturday but we are not sure.  -Noel is out of food and money right now until he gets paid. He is doubting his belief in God because he doesn't understand why God would let terrible things happen to good people. He needs extra prayers! -Edgar is the same. He did come to church yesterday. Please keep praying for him! Miracles -Last Monday night, we had a sweet lesson with Cathy and Hermana Chacon in HB Central Library Park. It was a beautiful conversation about the Plan of Salvation. I felt God's love so strongly. At the end, we asked Cathy if she wants this to be true. She...

Hola a todos!! It's been another amazing week! The elect are just Falling out of the sky. I just love being a missionary!! Highlights -I got to share a spiritual thought with my Dudley cousins who were at Lake Anna last week.  -Exchanges with Hermana Edgely! We made a language study plan, found Maria, and became best friends -Interviews and MLC with the Galoteras  Miracles -Lucas acted in faith and decided to live the Word of Wisdom! But the sad news is he didn't come to church this last week so we'll have to push his baptism back at least a week:( This is going to be a big week for Lucas. He needs some extra prayers this week! -On Friday, we got a referral for Jackeline. We called her and said we could come over in an hour! So we showed up and she was so excited for us to be there and teach her, her 18 year old son, Bryan and his son's best friend, Slater. We taught them in a mix of spanish and English about the Restoration ofnthe gospel of Jesus Christ. In the end, Br...
