Hey everyone! It's been such a good week! It went by too fast.  This week... ☆We started teaching Brenda's two older kids, Jeovani and Darlene. They are so awesome. Jeovani has so many questions!  ☆We had an amazing zone conference! I came away so inspired to change! ☆Alfredo decided to be baptized on August 7!!! He also quit his job so he can come to church.  ☆We had the amazing opportunity to do service inside the LA Temple with some other missionaries!! We got to clean the lockers and also do a tour around some of the temple it was so cool! ☆We had a Noche de Hogar with la familia Negreros and Mociel. We had amazing tacos and a great discussion about the temple! ☆Exchanges with Hermana Rivera! She is such a good gospel teacher. I learned so much from her.  ☆Jeovani, Darlene, Mociel, and Alfredo all came to church on Sunday!!! This week in Zone Conference we talked about the Book of Mormon. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon. It is another Testament of Christ....

Wow!! This week has been a week FILLED with miracles and memories.  Brenda went inside the temple!! That was a miracle in itself. We were planning on going to the temple the end of this month. When we went online, the only available appointments for a long time were this week! So miraculously, Brenda was able to get off work and receive a temple recommend in 2 days notice! The temple was special. Enrique and 6 of us Hermanas were able to be there. Brenda said as she was baptized for these departed ancestors, she felt their weight on her. I thought that was a beautiful description. Each of us carry burdens but through making covenants with Christ, he can lift the burdens from us.  After the temple, Enrique suggested we go to this taco truck in Anaheim that he'd been to before. This was so inspired because when we got to the taco truck we saw a WHITE TARP!!! *Backstory: 6 months ago, before I was even here, Hermana Midence had a dream that she, Hermana Reed, and I were teaching ...

Week 24: Cerritos

Yesterday, one of my best friends, Brenda, was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It was one of the most joyful days of my life as I watched her make a promised to always remember Christ, be a representative of Him, and keep his commandments. And in turn God promised her the gift of the Holy Ghost & the gift of life with Him as she stays faithful to these covenants.  I remember the first time I met Brenda. She was so sad and closed off. She never smiled, was stressed about her kids, and didn't want to pray.  It has been a miracle to see the change that Christ has made in her.  She loves going to the temple grounds, reads Scriptures and speeches from our apostles every day, smiles and laughs, prays with her kids, and loves church.  Yesterday, she brought all 3 kids (Darlene, Jeovani, and Alex) to church for the first time. She bought them all cute outfits to wear. It was adorable to see Jeovani and Alex in their white shirt...

Week 23: Cerritos

Happy 4th of July!!!! I am so grateful that we live in a country where we have religious freedom that allowed the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ to take place.  This week has been such a good week!! We have seen lots of miracles in Cerritos!  ☆God led us to two new people to teach! They are in the same apartment complex as Familia Perez (so now we're teaching 11 people in that apartment complex and the Elders teach about 5 there so I think everyone knows us now). One day last week when we were coming out of a lesson, we saw Mellissa sitting at the top of the stairs outside her apartment. We asked her if we could share a special message about Christ. She said she was cooking but to come back another time. So we went back on Thursday. We didn't know which apartment was hers so we knocked on the door closest to where she was sitting and Ofilia opened the door. She didn't know Mellissa, but we were able to teach her about the Book of Mormon. On Saturday, we went back...
